Igor Zilinko is a renowned Ukrainian artist of his generation, whose creative career spanned the second half of the 1970s through the 2000s. He is known primarily as a graphic artist, as well as one of the founders and members of the Ternopil-based informal artists’ group “Khorugva.”
He was part of Ternopil’s young creative intelligentsia, which shaped the city’s national, unofficial identity during a time of despair, stagnation, and the turbulent final years of the Soviet era. Since the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church emerged from the underground, he has been fascinated by sacred art and icon painting, which he continues to pursue with particular dedication today.
The exhibition will run through July 19.
