10,000 Angels - A unique art project.
Scottish artist and volunteer Mary-Ann Orr is implementing a unique art project in Ukraine: children draw angels, and their works become part of a large panoramic tapestry that brings together children's voices from around the world.
On October 16, at 4 p.m., the Lviv Museum of the History of Religion will host a presentation of part of this unique international project, “10,000 Angels — Global Children's Tapestry — Voice for Peace.”
The aim of the project is to unite the countries of the world in the struggle for peace through children's creativity and to remind us that the future belongs to those who dream of a world without war.
The exhibition at the Lviv Museum of the History of Religion will feature panels with children's drawings, which, thanks to volunteers – Scottish textile masters – are transformed into embroidered works made using the author's technique on felted wool. The panels will then be combined into a large-scale panoramic tapestry featuring ten thousand angels, 60 meters long and 2 meters high. Next to each work will be a photograph of the child with their drawing.
So, come to the exhibition “10,000 Angels – Global Children's Tapestry – Voice for Peace” to feel the power of children's imagination and their boundless faith in a better future.
The exhibition will be open for a month.
