From September 10 to 13, 2026, Lviv will once again become the heart of the global literary and intellectual scene. The Lviv Palace of Arts (17 Kopernika St.) will host the 33rd Lviv International BookForum—the country’s premier cultural festival, which this year will bring together leading Ukrainian and international thinkers, writers, and human rights activists.
The main focus of this year’s forum is on the themes of war, historical memory, justice, and rethinking the modern world.
What awaits visitors:
Star guests: Legendary British actor and writer Stephen Fry and iconic Ukrainian author Serhiy Zhadan will take the Main Stage.
Justice and History: Renowned British-French lawyer Philip Sands will lead a series of discussions on the investigation of war crimes and the lessons of international tribunals.
Global Literary Lineup (online): Thanks to a partnership with the Hay Festival, world-renowned intellectuals will join the conversations—Pulitzer Prize winner Viet Thanh Nguyen, British novelist Julian Barnes, and French writer Matthias Enard.
Lively Discussions: Panels featuring Yuri Andrukhovych, Volodymyr Yermolenko, and Karl Schlegel will address humanity’s “new old fears” and the legacy of Hannah Arendt.
Book Fair: The traditional large-scale sale of new releases from Ukrainian publishers, book signings, and book presentations.
